VIETNAM  VISA EXEMPTION FOR ORDINARY PASSPORTS

NO COUNTRY DATE INTO FORCE CONDITIONS AND STAY
1 Vietnamese Oversea 01/7/2007 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to overseas Vietnamese and their families with the stay duration  no exceeding  90 days.
2 Brunei 08/8/2007 - The exemption of  visa is granted to Brunei citizens holding  ordinary passports still valid for up to 6 months, provided that the stay duration does not exceed 14 days.
3 Cambodia 04/12/2008 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to Cambodia citizens  holding   of ordinary passports. The stay duration does not exceed 14 days.
4 Denmark 01/5/2005 -  The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to citizens of  Denmark, whether they hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes. They  have been exempted from visa upon their entry into or exit from Vietnam with the stay duration not exceeding 15 days, provided that the following conditions are satisfied:

+ They bear appropriate passports issued by competent authorities of the country of which they are citizens and their passports are still valid for up to 3 months from the date of their entry;
+ They have tickets for boarding transportation means to return or travel to another country;
+ They are not in the list of persons not permitted to enter Vietnam.

5 Finland 01/5/2005 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to citizens of  Finland, whether they hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes. They have been exempted from visa upon their entry into or exit from Vietnam with the stay duration not exceeding 15 days, provided that the following conditions are satisfied:

+ They bear appropriate passports issued by competent authorities of the country of which they are citizens and their passports are still valid for up to 3 months from the date of their entry;
+ They have tickets for boarding transportation means to return or travel to another country;
+ They are not in the list of persons not permitted to enter Vietnam.

6 Indonesia 04/12/2003 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to holders of ordinary passports with the stay duration not exceeding 30 days, provided that their passports are still valid for up to 6 months. The stay duration shall not be extended.
7 Japan 01/7/2004 -  The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to citizens of  Japan, whether they hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes.  They hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes, have been exempted from visa upon their entry into or exit from Vietnam with the stay duration not exceeding 15 days, provided that the following conditions are satisfied:

+ They bear appropriate passports issued by competent authorities of the country of which they are citizens and their passports are still valid for up to 3 months from the date of their entry;
+ They have tickets for boarding transportation means to return or travel to another country;
+ They are not in the list of persons not permitted to enter Vietnam.

8 Laos 01/7/2004 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to holders of ordinary passports still valid up to 6 months with the stay duration not exceeding 30 days. The stay duration may be considered for extension in special cases. Those who wish to stay for over 30 days are liable to apply for visa in advance of their entry. The  stay duration may be extended.
9 Malaysia 25/11/2001 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to holders of any passports, provided that the stay duration does not exceed 30 days and their entry is for any of the following purposes: tourism; participation in news or press activities; official mission; visit of relatives; commerce negotiation; investment; participation in sport activities; participation in conferences or workshops.
10 Norway 01/5/2005 -  The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to citizens of  Norway, whether they hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes. They hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes, have been exempted from visa upon their entry into or exit from Vietnam with the stay duration not exceeding 15 days, provided that the following conditions are satisfied:

+ They bear appropriate passports issued by competent authorities of the country of which they are citizens and their passports are still valid for up to 3 months from the date of their entry;
+ They have tickets for boarding transportation means to return or travel to another country;
+ They are not in the list of persons not permitted to enter Vietnam.

11 Philippine 01/4/2000 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to holders of ordinary passports with the stay duration not exceeding 21 days, provided that their passports are still valid for up to 6 months and they have return air ticket or air ticket for leaving for another country.
12 Thailand 09/7/2000 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to Thailand citizens holding passport valid at least 6 months, with  the stay duration not exceeding 30 days.
13 Russia 01/1/2009 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to citizens of Russia, whether they hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes.  They hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes, have been exempted from visa upon their entry into or exit from Vietnam with the stay duration not exceeding 15 days, provided that the following conditions are satisfied:

+ They bear appropriate passports issued by competent authorities of the country of which they are citizens and their passports are still valid for up to 3 months from the date of their entry;
+ They have tickets for boarding transportation means to return or travel to another country;
+ They are not in the list of persons not permitted to enter Vietnam.

14 Singapore 01/12/2003 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to holders  of ordinary passports with the stay duration not exceeding 30 days, provided that their passports are still valid for up to 6 months and they have return air tickets or air ticket for leaving for another country, and enough financial capacity to cover their expenditure during their stay, and other necessary conditions for traveling to another country, including visa.
15 Republic of  Korea 01/7/2004 -  The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to citizens of  the Republic of Korea, whether they hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes. They have been exempted from visa upon their entry into or exit from Vietnam with the stay duration not exceeding 15 days, provided that the following conditions are satisfied:

+ They bear appropriate passports issued by competent authorities of the country of which they are citizens and their passports are still valid for up to 3 months from the date of their entry;
+ They have tickets for boarding transportation means to return or travel to another country;
+ They are not in the list of persons not permitted to enter Vietnam.

16 Sweden 01/5/2005 - The exemption of Vietnam visa is granted to citizens of  Sweden, whether they hold  any passports and their entry is for any purposes. They have been exempted from visa upon their entry into or exit from Vietnam with the stay duration not exceeding 15 days, provided that the following conditions are satisfied:

+ They bear appropriate passports issued by competent authorities of the country of which they are citizens and their passports are still valid for up to 3 months from the date of their entry;
+ They have tickets for boarding transportation means to return or travel to another country;
+ They are not in the list of persons not permitted to enter Vietnam.
